If I Can You Can

If-I-Can-You-Can

One Man NGO

DROP DEAD FOUNDATION (Rgtd)

YOU CAN. ONE MAN CAN. BE A ONE MAN NGO.

We at Drop Dead Foundation believe that living in Mumbai we can not save mighty Ganga but we can certainly save a few drops of water wherever we are residing.

SAVE EVERY DROP OR DROP DEAD

A tap that drips once every second waste about 1000 liters 0f water every month. In our first year from Feb. 2007 (International Year of Water) to Feb. 2008 Drop Dead Foundation has visited 1666 houses in Mira Road, fixed 414 leaking taps free of charge and saved about 4.14 lac liters of water. In the last 8 years the average total comes to more than 25 lac liters. Imagine 25 lac bottles of drinking water saved from going down the drain.

DON’T TALK OF THE PROBLEM – THINK OF THE SOLUTION

You can. One person can. So simple. Be a One Man NGO. You just need one plumber to accompany you. This message is spreading like wild fire, not only in India but abroad also. A German TV channel (www.zdf.de) team that spent a full Sunday with us shot 10 mts film and showed it all over Europe. In India Zee, CNN-IBN-7 and other channels telecasted a full documentary on the working of Drop Dead team. Bhaskar Group of newspapers, mags, FMs, channels of Bhopal (India) are highlighting our initiative with all the media support that it needs. In Maharashtra, Times of India, Mumbai Samachar (Gujarati), Loksatta (Marathi) and other dailies / magazines have given us full backing. International celebrities like Amitabh Bacchan, Shah Rukh Khan have endorsed our efforts to save every drop whole heartedly.

AT 80 IF I CAN U CAN.

So far (2007 to 2016) we have never approached anyone asking for

Donation.  God is our fund raiser. Now we need big fund to spread this Water Conservation message far and wide, to each and every slope of the globe. We have decided to use all my future awards money also for this noble cause. I believe, the windfall that I get without labour should go back to society.

OUR NEEDS ARE VERY MODEST IN CASE YOU ARE INSPIRED

  1. An office premise around 750 sq. ft. at Mira Rd to work and store posters, pamphlets, stickers, banners for rallies to create awareness etc… So far we are operating from my small residential apartment.
  2. A computer to collect data and other relevant information.
  3. Salary for an assistant cum computer operator to co-ordinate with other NGOs online working on water conservation.
  4. A plumber and a volunteer on payroll with a two wheeler. If any call comes for leakage of water, like fire brigade, they can rush to the spot on bicycle / scooty and correct the leaking faucet.
  5. A peon for sundry works.
